Le loro fotografie continuano a far bella mostra nelle cover dei dischi, un pò come succedeva coi primi Ramones, ma i Taxi non ci mettono solo la faccia. Si sente lontano un miglio che in questo, stupendo, secondo album hanno allenato muscoli e polmoni. Il toro va preso per le corna e 'sti gran figli della lupa lo sanno bene. La chitarra di Killer mette i brividi sin dall' attacco: punk rock che recide l'aorta con un colpo secco. In Dead Girl è la voce del muscolare Tenda, ora aggressiva subito dopo suadente, a provocare un formicolio lungo la spina dorsale. Sensazioni che affiorano di nuovo, anzi divampano, nelle due cover in scaletta: nel cristalino glam rock di Hard Times (un inedito degli Agony Bag) e nella gagliarda rilettura di Qui Est In, Qui Est Out di Serge Gainsbourg. La sezione ritmica esce alla grande in Out On The Street e Load Point Fire, due pezzi in pieno stile Taxi: una band che non dà fregature agli stranieri come i tassinari all'aeroporto di Fiumicinio. Non a caso sul loro abitacolo ci sono saliti prima gli americani e non ne vogliono proprio sapere di scendere

Although Rome continues to have a vibrant and flourishing punk scene, I really can't think of any other semi-current band that's garnered any type of long term impact on the Roman punk scene than TAXI!! Homoplastik and the Temporal Sluts had a couple great records, but they both crapped out before making it to the coveted full length arena. The Grabbies made alot more waves AFTER they broke up, than when they were around. And their heralded impact has only only reached a fringe sector of the noise/garage scene. Transex, the Idol Lips and the Mudlarks are three of the current contenders, and time will tell if they maintain the longevity and creativity that TAXI possess. So TAXI are by and far the longest running and most influential punk band to emerge from the Roman punk scene in the last decade...PERIOD!! Hard to believe that it's been almost 4 years since their debut LP/CD 'Like A Dog' was released on Dead Beat back in 2003. Their popularity has grown immeasurably, largely due to the insurmountable feedback from the underground punk rock press of 'Like A Dog'. Maximum Rock N Roll, Now Wave, The Odyssey, No Brains, OX, Dotdash.com and countless other fan/web zines lauded 'Like A Dog' as a classic and before it's time. Oh and lest we forget that swank little interview in Horizontal Action #12, that sandwiched them right in between the Ponys and the Real Losers. Yep, their fan base grew immensely after that issue was published! Well TAXI are back on the new release radar after their 'Who's To Blame' TOUR 7" was released in 2004 to conicide with theEast Cost/Southern US tour. 'Yu Talk Tu Mach' is a 10 song monster that's an impecable follow up to 'Like A Dog'. No curve balls thrown in the track list here. Just 10 more brain pummeling cuts played with ferocity and panache. Much like bands like the Kids, Hubble Bubble, PVC and the Pack, TAXI dust of the corpse of rock n roll and bash out 10 more winners with relative ease. 'Yu Tolk Tu Mach' was recorded on multiple weekends over the course of 2006. The guitar tones in general on 'Yu Tolk Tu Mach' sound phenomenal. The fuzzy, warm reverb you've come to expect from a TAXI record is placed right where you want it...at the forefront of mix. Hell it sounds like Cheetah Chromes' guitar on 'Young, Loud And Snotty' was fucked back to life just for this record. 'Load Point Fire', 'Killer' and 'The Vampire' are just three of the sneering, sleazy anthems on 'Yu Tolk Tu Mach'; and perfectly showcase TAXI as Rome's premier, forerunning punk band. Simple, catchy tunes played with pride and conviction. A moniker that TAXI's been proudly waving since the band began in '99. If you're one of the few that's been there since day one, 'Yu Tolk Tu Mach' is another bench mark release in TAXI's ever growing discography. If you've only heard one of their singles, or haven't heard TAXI before; 'Yu Tolk Tu Mach' is a perfect introduction to the band. It's just an exceptional album from start to finish and another flawless, Italian contribution to the international punk rock scene!!

Si chiamano Taxi, vengono da Roma e vi fanno viaggiare lungo le cadenze infuocate di un rock and roll primordiale che strizza l'occhio al punk e che cattura l'ascolto, grazie ad un impatto immediato ed effervescente. Parafrasando il titolo dell'album i Taxi "zittiscono tutti" e fanno parlare soltanto le loro chitarre, dopo di che, pensateci bene anche voi, non c'è mica bisogno di altro! Ma veniamo pure al disco, quel "Yu Tolk Tu Mach" volutamente sgangherato e irrispettoso delle regole ortografiche della lingua anglosassone: il refrain di "Killer" è contagioso e forte, ti esplode fra le mani come un petardo da stadio lanciato da una curva inferocita, mentre "Glad To See You On The Ground" e "Dead Girl" sono delle punk ballad di certo più malleabili, ma altrettanto gustose; "Gloves" è il "punk and roll" molto dinamico e corale che precede "Hard Times", un brano che possiede un groove interno davvero fantastico, un pezzo inedito, scritto da Cliven Jones degli Agony Bag che lo ha passato ai Taxi, gratificati da tanta considerazione e fiducia. Sull'altro lato, per chi voglia acquistare il disco su vinile, "The Vampire", un brano che ha in dotazione una chiave ritmica superba, tale da far resuscitare i morti, e una versione molto elettrificata di "Qui Est In Qui Est Out", la nota canzone di Serge Gainsbourg, qui recuperata per una cover impegnativa dalla quale però i Taxi escono bene. L'intro di "Out On The Street" ci richiama alla mente "Jumpin' Jack Flash" dei Rolling Stones, ma poi il brano si sviluppa diversamente, sulle note di un punk rock cadenzato ed incalzante. "Load Point Fire" è una vera sorpresa, con quelle chitarre strofinate a dovere e quel basso ventrale che non manca di far sentire il suo apporto. "Who's To Blame" è un brano di vero e proprio rock'n' roll tinteggiato di punk, divertente, liberatorio e furente semplice nelle sue strutture armoniche, ma di grande effetto, così come l'intero album, che scaturisce energia da ogni singolo solco!!!

Das italienische Quartett, das im Jahr 2003 mit seinem Debütalbum noch komplett im '77 Punk Fahrwasser Marke KIDS oder PVC schwamm, hat seinen Gitarren-Sound mittlerweile mit einer Prise schmutzigem '70s Glam erweitert, diesen in hochmelodische Songs verpackt, und mit vollem runden Gesang ausstaffiert, was das Album "Yu Tolk Tu Mach" zu einem regelrechten Party-Kracher macht. Angefangen vom mitreißenden Opener "Killer", über hochmelodische, mit extrem prägnanten Gitarren-Riffs versehenen Nummern wie etwa "Dead Girl" oder "Out In The Street", bis hin zur SERGE GAINSBOURG Beatgranate "Qui Est In, Qui Est Out", die hier klingt als wäre sie von TURBONEGRO zu ihrer "Apocalypse Dudes"-Phase gecovert worden, läßt das Album keine wünsche offen. Dabei steht bei TAXI das hervorragende Songwriting der insgesamt 10 Nummern im Vordergrund, und die hier zu hörenden Gitarrensolos sind immer kurz und präzise auf den Punkt gebracht.
